Well you asked for it...
Oct. 31st, 2010 06:09 pmSo I took a gazillion more kitten pics. Purely for the good of teh interwebz, you understand.
Catch them while they're still cute...

They seem to be settling in really well so far. They're both extremely playful and tend to follow me around the house in an endearing manner (I am willing to take cupboard love if that's what's on offer). Now that they trust me, they also purr automatically when picked up or stroked, like a pair of little engines. Sometimes during the day the two of them creep into the wardrobe in our bedroom and sleep in the hanging laundry baskets.
Long-legged Truffle moves with casual grace, leaping easily from the floor to the arm of the sofa and back. Harriet continues to be a cartoon cat, and gives us lots of comedy moments. Sometimes she tries to jump after Truffle and goes *splat* into the arm of the sofa, with legs spread out, at which point she clings on with her claws for a few seconds, and then gradually slips back down to the floor.
In the evenings after I feed them they run about like lunatics for an hour or two, and then when they get sleepy they turn into proper little purry lap muffins - hoorah. Apart from when they are hiding in the wardrobe, they like to be in the same room as us, so when we go to bed, they tend to come too, which is really cute :-)
(Unfortunately Truffle has diarrea at the moment and may be a little under the weather. I wIll have to keep an eye on her.)

Date: 2010-10-31 07:40 pm (UTC)I hope Truffle is solid again soon - we used to have to mix boiled rice with boiled white fish for Brezeska to firm her up again before we discovered (after a lot of trial and error and carpet cleaner) that she was allergic to chicken and had to go on a special prescription only diet from the vets.
In knitting news - I've just knitted my first proper buttonhole - as opposed to hole made by mistake :-)

Date: 2010-10-31 09:06 pm (UTC)Those gloves are lovely but I'm afraid that pattern is beyond my still basic knitting skills at the moment, most if it makes sense but alas not all of it but I shall be using that method to make buttonholes in the future - cheers :-)

Date: 2010-11-01 12:53 am (UTC)Sorry Truffle is feeling bad. You may need to change her food or limit it for a week - like not more than a half cup of dry kibble a day until she gets better. Also, watch out for that blinds cord. A kitten can get tangled up in that when you aren't home.
(over protective, me?)

Date: 2010-11-02 07:37 pm (UTC)My vet said take all food away but leave water for 24 hours...even for poor Harriet. Its the only thing to flush their system out.
