Retro heaven
Apr. 18th, 2010 09:08 pmFiends... I have a new obsession of the week!
Such is the whimsy of human endeavour that no sooner do I acquire a DSLR to take ultra-crisp high-resolution images than I fall in love with a noddy iPhone app that specialises in low res, naive, nostalgia-pics of days gone by. But hell, I am in love with this app. It's called Hipstamatic and comes equipped with a range of simulated lens and film combos that you can fiddle with in order to take faux-vintage photos in a whole variety of styles and eras, from grainy black and white early photography through to orange-tinged 1970s Bollywood.
I love it!
To give the idea, I've posted a random selection of pics from my weekend behind the cut...

In case any of you have eyeball tolerance for more, I loaded a few albums on Flickr:
So... anyway. As you might have deduced from the pics, this weekend included a visit from Natalie and Helena, a bimble around the Natural History Museum and some lovely food. On top of that, today was just about the most beautiful day we've had this year. Golden light + warmth, what more could one ask for? Bliss.
I did also take some 'proper' pics inside the NHM which I might post later... the main hall really is a breathtaking piece of architecture.
Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today.
