Good evening fiends. I hope Monday has not been too traumatic for you. Mine has been ok, though somewhat lacking in excitement and pizazz.
To help rectify matters, I'm contemplating sending a mailshot around my department...
So... I see a few of you are on Google Buzz. No idea whether I'm likely to use it, but I'll probably dabble for a bit and see whether it takes off. My first impression is that it could become a sort of aggregator for one's 'public' online witterings. Meanwhile the Facebook community is experiencing mass pitchfork-wielding hysteria about it being the end of society as we know it. It all sounds a bit panic-mongery to me... but then again I am comparatively relaxed about these things. I certainly don't obsess about being findable online. I'm easily found by my real name in lots of places (my work website, Flickr, art Blog and so on). In fact, to be honest, the whole point is to be found. There are other places for f'locked witterings, such as facebook or LJ (... or am I being naive?)
(As a minor diversion, have you all looked yourselves up on google dashboard? If not, give it a look... it shows you all the stuff that google knows about you! http://www.google.com/dashboard)
Anyway, enough of my yawnsome web wittering. I think it's time to go home. After all, Monday night = telly quiz night. Unfortunately Victoria Coren's verbal diarrea has gone into overdrive in recent weeks. (Does she write her own scripts? For the love of god, can't somebody stop her?)

Dear Senior managers, next time you have a piece of work for me, don't approach me and say "I'd like you to do a fit-for-purpose feasibility study on blah blah blah"... instead please phrase your request as follows: "Agent Meanie, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to infiltrate the department of XXX and find out what they want. Simultaneously you will test this new piece of technology and feed back your top secret findings in a form disguised as a feasibility report. Should you decline the mission, this manager will self-destruct in 5 seconds" Ok?
