Cultural Learnings of Borehamwood
Jan. 9th, 2010 01:19 pmBrrrrrr! Shiver me timbers, I dreamt it was summer, but when I woke up it was ffffreeezing. I think I will avoid going out this weekend. I might not even bother getting out of my pjs. Maybe I will copy
gylfinir and do some knitting.
So far I've had three coffees in rapid succession, thanks to the new coffee machine that does "bean to cup". Dream!
So what have you lot got planned for your Saturday?
Would you like to start out with some Slebby badness?
I can imagine an exit interview with Lady Soverystupid where she is asked "At what point in the house did you feel that you had really hit intellectual rock bottom?" and she will reply "well, Davina, it was probably at the moment in the diary room where I needed to have a two-syllable word explained to me by a P3G..."
For those of you who missed it, I can say that last night's Sleb BB was, in equal parts, the most entertaing and the most mentally scarring to date. On paper, I would probably have rejected the idea of getting the men to wear mankinis, if only from fear in my bones at the idea of Bubba clad in such matter.
But as it turns out, the reality had me rocking with laughter. Part of the humour was derived beforehand from watching Sisqo, the feyest of lisping R'n'B pixies, strutting around with deluded macho gangsta angst at the imagined grief he would get from the boyz in his hood.
Thankfully, Jesus protected us from Billy-Bob in a mankini, but the sight of him in tight aquamarine trunks was not much consolation.
For anyone whose eyeballs are not yet bleeding in anticipation, here is some visual imagery...

To add to the horror, we were also treated to the inflatable canoe that is Ivana Trump's top lip. She is the new surprise housemate (I was hoping for MC Hammer but never mind). Seeing her beside Dame Steph was like a Heat Magazine illustration from a "dos and don'ts" article on cosmetic surgery. Steph has had her work done with beautiful restraint. She somehow looks like she did in the 1980s without having succumbed to the wind-tunnel look. The only give away is that her neck is 20 years older than her face. Ivana, on the other hand, gives me the willies. She and Heidi together are like props from a creepy carnival puppet show
Ooh, there's a Alfie Hitchcock film on today called The Wrong Man. Apparently it's "bleak and Kafkaesque". I think that's my afternoon plans sorted.
