Twitter has gone into a sort of frenzy over who we should hate most.

Maybe we need a death match between Jan Moir (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1220756/A-strange-lonely-troubling-death--.html)  and Ian from London Underground (http://www.jonathanmacdonald.com/?p=4024) to help us decide

I suspect the lovely Ian will find himself jobless by the end of the day....  meanwhile Uncle Fry's rousing tweets have caused the Press Complaints Commission website to crash.  Power to the people and all that...

That makes it sound like some virtual version of Hitchcock's Birds.

Care to elaborate? (Ive never seen The Birds, amazingly enough... )

(And on a totaly unrelated note, who at LJ can I slap for deciding that I would like to type all of my comments in a box with miniscule pale grey font that I can barely see to proofread before posting? Grrski!)

Whoever wrote the stylesheet you chose...

Nothing to elaborate really; it's just the words twittering frenzy... and it being Friday afternoon and me having no brain.

And never mind brain, Friday afternoon = happiness :-)

You could always read the du Maurier short story first, just to limber up.

Do not read "Don't Look Now" alone though.

I might fiddle around and switch templates... if I can see one I like.

I really hope Jean Moir is forced to see the cruel idiocy of her words - I don't like using the word bitch in a derogatory sense (I fool myself I have rcclaimed it when I describe myself as a dizzy bitch) but she is a nasty bitch and deserves everything and more coming to her.

Happy ever after myth of civil partnerships just one of her ridiculous not supported with any evidence whatsoever statements - er has she bothered to look at hetero marriages and the accompany tales of woe, domestic violence and divorce recently? Silly stupid cow.

I completely and utterly agree, down to the very words you use.

Is there a community somewhere for people who are outraged and disgusted by daily fail nonsense articles?

I don't know about communities - if there isn't one we could set one up though...the only downside would be having to actually read the daily fail, but actually thinking about it we wouldn't as the daily fail have never let anything like accuracy, diligent research or basic human decency get in the way of the arguments have they?

Someone should break them from within... imagine the fun of spewing out enough journalistic bile to get promoted to editor and then revealing oneself with a flourish as a gay, Frenchy-loving immigrant who claims benefit for 30 children and thinks prisons are too tough.

Actually yes... it's called the whole of the thinking world ;-)

I suspect (hope) that she will get some comeuppance for this one as she seems to have achieved a pinnacle of outrage.

I doubt it - have you seen her 'so-called' apology?

It did make me laugh though that M and S had asked their advert to be moved away from the article. Oh, they know how to strike at the heart of middle England :-)

I haven't seen the apology...

(Stephen Fry tweeted something earlier to the effect that she was claiming to be the victim on internet bullying and largely blaming him)

It's here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/oct/16/jan-moir-stephen-gately-response

Amazing how it seems to be other people's fault that she's getting so much flak. What can the poor woman possibly have done wrong.
