More unpointy ramblings...
Jul. 31st, 2009 06:01 pmHello fiendlets, it appears to be Friday afternoon. Hoorah and all that! I hope you are all planning lovely weekends for yourselves.
I feel inexplicably blue today. And not a pretty blue like Wedgwood or a fabulous vivid one like ultramarine.... I am more like a rubbish 80s stonewashed jeans kind of blue. (Not in a slit my wrists kind of way... just a bit subdued).
There is really no explanation for this, given that I have 3 days off work next week and some lovely birthday-related plans for the weekend. My top challenge for the next 5 days is to NOT think about work.... at all. It must be banned from my head. Will somebody please slap it out of me?
Failing that, I might go and stroke some yarn, that will make me feel all nice... (that and lolcats.)
So, moving onto more pleasing things... a while ago I made a test knit of my bare tree design... right now it's just a knitted square, but I am finally getting around to doing something with it. I might see if I can use my days off to turn it into a floppy, lined bag for carrying books around...

If it works out, I might even write this up into a pattern (...as part of my master plan to become a hopeless and underpaid designer.)
On other topics, have just started listening to a band called Rasputina on Spotify. Apart from having a fab name, they use strings, which is like a secret weapon as far as I am concerned... (they had me at Cello). It's all a bit gothette for my usual taste though... whaddya think?
Oh... G has just put on Placebo's cover of Daddy Cool! Instant happiness! :-D

Date: 2009-08-01 10:29 am (UTC)There were recommended to G on Spotify (along the lines of "you're clearly a big gotho muso... you're bound to like these!")
I can just never resist the sound of a cello...

Date: 2009-08-01 10:31 am (UTC)The bare tree design is lovely, and eminently scaleable.

Date: 2009-08-01 11:44 am (UTC)This morning I've decided that happiness is American style pancakes with blueberries, maple syrup, veggie bacon and sausages... [insert Homer Simpson noise here]
Thank you for encouragement re: the tree design... (I might post again once it has turned into something.)
