So after 2 days of mindless tweeting I am *quite* liking it...

Pros:

  • The bite sized one-liners mean that people post frequently but without waffle.  It's like getting a very quick 360 degree view of what's going on from a range of people that interest you in some way.
  • Lots of people are on it who are not on LJ/elsewhere.  (Even G has weakened enough to tinker on there...)
  • If you add slebs to your feed, you start to get the deluded impression that you are in their close circle of fiends...  (in fact you get to know far too much about what they're up to - see below).

Cons:
  • There is only so much I need to know about slebs.  (As G pointed out yesterday... did we really need to know that Stephen Fry just did a poo?)
  • What if I turn bad and start telling people when I do a poo?
  • It is, after all, just another way to waste my life

Back in the real physical world, yesterday was a nice day.   I met up with [info]kissmeforlonger  and  [info]firedraken   for coffee, baked goods, tea, mezze, more coffee, pavlova, alcoholic interlude and then dinner.   K was in a state of overworked exhaustion and caffeine-need, yet managed to traipse around with good cheer, despite having 500 metal bars in her backpack.  Not to mention holding her own amid the tireless yappy fervour that F and I seemed to be inbued with...    (issues covered, among other things:  horrible colleagues, men who pester you in the street, clothes designers who cater for posh social workers and Lakeland Plastics porn.)

On other matters, I am cross to be losing an hour of weekend!   Tis not right.  Why can't we lose an hour of Friday afternoon instead?

Well it was coyly phrased... I mean he could have meant shopping -- that begins with sh... actually something else springs to mind too. It's quite nice though in that he's funny but without being self consciously so -- you feel it could be the "real him". I like Chris Addison's twitter but it's obvious he's "performing" if you see what I mean.

It's true he comes across as very human... I get the feeling he twits a lot more frequently than other slebs. He must be thoroughly addicted.

Haven't seen Chris Addison's... might go for a nosey.

I noticed yesterday that there is someone called "fake Nick Cave" on there who twits as if he *were* Nick Cave (e.g. anecdotes about his wife and stuff... which is quite creepy when you think about it.)

Heh... there's a few "fake" celebs like that. The fake Steve Jobs was the first one I heard about.

I'm afraid Japanese manga have already eaten my brain and there isn't enough left for Twitter.

Oh internet! How have yu done to me?

T'internet has indeed a lot to answer for. I'm sure my brain never used to be made of worms...

Bizarrely I feel so much better today despite having had less than my full 8 hours. I put it down to having a wonderful girly afternoon and evening and lots of fab food. Must do it again soon!

Yes we must... (I don't typically need my arm twisting for food-oriented lazy days!)
