On a shallow note...
Feb. 17th, 2011 12:17 pmLast night I saw a trailer for what looks like the worst rom-com ever made. Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman embarking on a "comedic" sex-only relationship. I predict a charisma vacuum on a scale of Matthew Mahogany + Ikea Knightley.
What on earth is the appeal of Ashton Kutcher? He looks like a half-witted toddler in a man's body. (Am I just old?)
Mind you, sometimes even the old classics fall over on this. Last week G and I watched An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr and were struck by the total lack of on-screen chemistry between the two of them. (I think Deborah Kerr was woefully miscast, as she was supposed to be playing a nighclub singer turned "kept woman"... but seemed be doing an impression of an extra-prim Julie Andrews for most of it.)
