Good evening, all. I am pleased to announce that 'Rimming has resumed - hooray!

Given that I only know about 3 people in the entire world who play Skyrim, I suspect my chances of getting an answer to my next question are slim, but here goes...

Q: Should I join the Stormcloaks or the Empire?

The Stormcloaks have that whole me-against-the-world glamour going on (and lets not forget the 'Thor factor')... but they're also racist nutjobs.

The Empire sounds more equitable on paper, but in practice seems to be run by totalitarian loons who keep ordering people's heads to be chopped off.

Which of these nutty sides do I choose, people?

The Empire, led as they are by the Thalmor, are not wholesome. Personally, I tend to play Stormcloaks, but it depends on your style. I always play as a nord, with a grudge against the empire for trying to chop my head off in the prelude. But you may feel differently. I don't think there's much difference in gameplay between the two.

Hmmm... I suppose it would make sense for my nordnerd to join the storm cloaks, in that respect. As you say, the empire did indeed try to chop off my head.

Ummm... Jane, it's not the sort of 'Empire' that you might be imagining. (e.g. It has elves in it).

I suspect you might actually prefer the Nordish storm cloaks full of Svens and Eriks (even tho they are obv nazis.)

Hmmm... generally I am disinclined to play games twice - hence I want to 'get it right.,.. Which seems to be impossible.

Ooh, goody! I just had a readthrough and, yes, your post pretty much sums up my dilemma - both sides are dicks! (Lol at your redguard joining the Stormcloaks).

I am still dithering... do I just bite the bullet and go all-out Nord-Nazi, or join the totalitarian, everyone-against-the-Nords head-choppers?

(Maybe I will play another 300 hours of side quests and decide later)
