Believe it or not, this is a technical term for the bit on a glove where it branches off for the thumb, as I discovered in the making of these Dr Seussesque wrist warmers.

I suspect this colour combo is technically hideous and best avoided by right thinking people. But for me they are the glove equivalent of Haribo Tangfastics (i.e. delicious and fizzy).

For any interested bods, I've written up the pattern and shared it on Ravelry and Scribd, see below,...

Thank you! I suspect many would run for the hills at the sight of this colour combo, but it's nice to know there are others out there with the good taste not to be offended by psychedelia... ;-)

Incidentally, series one of Profit has been slowly downloading on my telly box all weekend... look what you've done! (Am I right to think there was only one series made?)

Psychedelic gloves and socks are always a good thing.

There was only one series made, yes, as the series got terible ratings. The last episode has to tie up lot of loose ends and feels a bit abrupt.

Cool - I think it has finished downloading at last, so that's something to keep me occupied on these rainy evenings. Thanks for the recommendation.

Lovely - I love the color combo too. Actually, I think that the thumb gusset is the triangular portion starting just above the wrist that forms the thumb - not the area between the thumb & first finger.

Ah... thank you! I'm sure you're right about the thumb gusset, thanks for correcting me.

(At my age, you'd think I could type the word 'gusset' without sniggering...)

Oooh, fluffy!

I'm impressed that the red matches your nail polish.

Heh... actually n real life they don't match.... they clash rather terribly. (Oh dear, I'm at risk of waffling on about Munsell-based computer monitors again!) :-)
