Ugh, fiends. Last night I witnessed Truffle torturing a moth to death. She kept it alive but disabled for ages and I tried not to look as it made me feel quite ill. I know I should have intervened and put it out of its misery but I just couldn't bring myself to do it... I really am that pathetic. Am clinging to the notion that the moth probably had no real 'awareness', but I'm not sure if I really believe that.

It was easy with Jess because she was too idle and sedentary to ever catch anything, apart from the odd frog (who would usually save themselves by playing dead). But these two are turning into hunting ninjas and I dread having to deal with half-alive mice or birds. I might actually have to relent and put bells on them.

On a more pleasing note, summer has arrived! In the absence of a garden to loaf in, I shall be taking microboy for a promenade around leafy Twickers.

Hope you all have excellent afternoons in the sun.

Sun? What is this "sun" of which you speak?

Bonnie just brought us a pigeon. Still alive.

Oh horror... was it alive enough to be set free?
(Please say yes)
