Good afternoon, fiends.  Are you all having enjoyable Saturdays?
  
I'm having a welcome sofa-flop after bimbling around the May Fair on Richmond green.  This is an annual event of extreme tweeness and I'm pleased to report that it was full of the usual Sue-friendly tat stalls and plants and local bands and dance troupes and other such nonsense.  Besides enjoying a delicious drink of a fresh young coconut with a straw stuck in it, it was the craft tent that really got me.  It had much better stuff than usual and I came home with a lovely handmade quilt for Rup's room.
    

Unfortunately I've got to the stage now where backache and bladder are beating my stamina into the ground, so we made a hasty exit after that and shuffled home to eat scones with jam and clotted cream.

  

This morning I had a visit from my brilliant artist friend, Madeline, who brought us a gorgeous posh outfit for Rup from the Swedish childrenswear label, Polarn O Pyret.  (It puts the rest of his Primarni wardrobe to shame, including a bright bodysuit in organic cotton and a pair of MC Hammer trousers in sap green).

  
I'm also pleased to report that I have now done the deed - I have painted the hallway.   It's in a soft dove grey - a bit lighter and less sludgey than the colour I really wanted - but close enough and will do for now.  In fact it's growing on me the more I see it and, as long as I continue to ignore my own shoddy workwomanship here and there, I am calling it done. Hoorah!  (Insanity is now making me wonder whether to paint the bathroom while I am at it...)

 

However tonight  I think I will just flop around and knit and watch Eurovision.  I haven't bothered watching it for years...   (I wonder if anyone has ever topped that German rap group from about 8 years ago who did their entire act wearing roller skates and shorts with flashing LED lights on them?)

I'm unashamedly looking forward to our local Steiner School spring fair next Saturday, which will be enjoyably full of high quality and low quality tat, people in cornish pasty shoes, aromatherapy massage, veggie food and other such hippy delights :-)
