Ooh, I have arrived home from work to find two lovely things...

Firstly, Jane Louis Wood has made me and Ruprecht yet another cake!  *best neighbour evah*.   This time it's a lovely squidgy pear and chocolate puddingy cake and the only condition is that I must photograph it before we accidentally eat it all with clotted cream.   And G has made a fish pie... yum.

Secondly, my beautiful, ruby red Willow is back from the doctor's with a fantastic new screen and a general air of 'shiny'.  (She's been polished and cleaned and looks like new).  After the last two weeks surviving with my tiny netbook, I can barely contain the joy of a big, bright 14" screen.

The kittens were so naughty and hyperactive today that G had to lock them in the bedroom while he had a conference call.  They were just as bad last night when we tried to watch telly - climbing the walls and thudding around endlessly behind the blinds in the living room.

Harriet is the worst ringleader...  but wisely she coincides her worst naughtiness with this face, which she can do on demand...

Occasionally Mapp and Lucia tear-arse around upstairs, taking it in turns to leap over and under the bed and of course jump on one another and then thunder down the stairs and career round under the dining table before tear-arsing back up the stairs. They sound like a small herd of elephants.

Cake sounds delicious, I made Mr Pops a WI fruit cake though I soaked the fruit in whisky overnight beforehand it doesn't taste very much of whisky but it is very juicy.

I bet it was lovely. G was just saying how much he loves fruit cake. (Jane made one with whisky soaked fruit the other week that he is still raing about.) But my favourite so far has been a gorgeous ginger cake she made for me last week to help with my iron deficiency... total yum!

Yes, it's amazing how much noise 2 cats can make just running around...

When we first got Clyde, when was caught on the kitchen counter he used to flop onto the floor, show me his belly and mew like a kitten.

These days he takes a more robust 'fuck you' attitude to my cries of 'get down!'.

Harriet is becoming an increasingly cheeky minx. She no longer flees from the work surface when G turns up in the kitchen. I am sure if she could, she would be pulling a Catherine Tate "bothered?" face.
