Whoo - my belly feels huge this week.  Huge and round and plumptious, like I might pop.  I love it!  I'd like to press pause on my pregnancy and just stay like this from now on, 5 months in, with Ruprecht all quiet and small and wriggly and tucked away.  And me all big and roundy like a fruit, with the best skin and hair I've ever had (like, really, evah!)

If my leaflets are to be believed, the next trimester will bring a return to tiredness, mood swings and nausea.  Plus new aches and pains and sleeplessness from being overinflated.  I can barely wait.  And then, of course, there will be my own personal alien moment and Ruprecht will cease to be a quiet little wriggly fictional thing and become a real life arrival who cries and poos and does projectile wee in my face.   (Still... at least I'll get to find out what he looks like.)

Meanwhile, I have discovered that I can't have tulips any more, because they appear to be some form of illicit crack for cats.  It took them two seconds to discover the bunch I bought the other day and, several vase-incidents later, nothing will deter them from nomming the flower heads with deranged determination.  So I googled it and discovered that, apparently, cats and tulips is a "thing".   Tsk.

Still, I had a lovely lazy weekend, immersing myself in french angora and tinkering with my jewellery making things.  I made two sets of posh stitch markers for my friend Melanie, with gemstones and sterling silver findings, in return for the most utterly foxilicious felted cloche hat that she made for me last week.  (I wore it today with a coordinating 20s-looking grey wrap and elbow length leather gloves....  hot librarian chic for an unappreciative workplace, sigh.)

The rest of tonight will involve Uni C (hoorah!) and debating whether to watch another ep of The Killing or save it for best...

Hope you're all having fun ignoring VD (or not, if that's what floats your boat).

Love from me.
x

We went to Cleethorpes for Valentines Day - it was mostly closed but marvellous nonetheless.

Thank you so much for my truly fantastic skully pot holder - Mr Pops wants to frame it :-)

Hopefully there won't be too much projectile weeing or vomiting and hopefully no projectile poohing at all - my youngest brother's favourite trick was to do all 3 - sometimes at once.

I'm glad you like the skully knitty nonsense :-) I was having trouble thinking what you'd do with it if it's no good as a pot holder, so framing might not be so weird!

I shall look forward to the 3-way projectile emissions...

I love the skully knitty nonsense and just keep marvelling at your neat knitting skill. There was a double knitting workshop scheduled at the woolshop near our hotel in Edinburgh - I was tempted to stay longer so I could go. But I have thanks to the wonders of youtube taught myself how to kfb and have knitted 2 heart shapes as a result and made Mr Pops a slightly shonky but will get better with practice heartshape :-)

I was worried you'd think I was being ungrateful for my holder as it arrived whilst we were away and so it was a while til I could email you to say thanks.

That's alright I would never assume you were being ungrateful. I had a feeling you were away. As for knitting, I LOVE YouTube for teaching me new techniques. Between that and wikipedia we probably don't need schools any more ;-)

You should see cats with valerian tablets. I thought Clyde was having a fit, but no, he was just really, really high.

Every time I go near a Solgar vitamin bottle now he thinks it's the valerian stash and starts shouting really loud.

Funnily enough you're not the first to tell me cat + tranquilliser stories... They're total crack heads, the lot of them!

I'm so glad someone else enjoys Universally Challenged. We love it stupidly here.

It's the best programme ever made! Also I have the slight hots for Chan (one of the team captains on last night's show)... He's all Asian cheekbones and laconic English plumminess - like an Aubrey Beardsley print waiting to happen.

This is v. significant because, other than Only Connect, I can't think of another show less likely to supply eye candy!
