Following my pre-scan jitters of last night, I thought I would post an update, for anyone who may be interested...
When we went for the scan today, Ruprecht was curled up into a tight ball and the ultrasound lady was not able to get a proper look, so she made me go away and jiggle around for a bit! (Her advice was to take a brisk walk and do some running up and down stairs.) So after a bit of huffing and puffing, we made our way back into the room and tried again, by which time the lazy little tyke had shifted enough for limbs and heart to be seen... not to mention the crucial organs for vital boy/girl identification.
In a nutshell, I'm pleased to report that no problems were detected, and baby appears to have all of the bits in the right places!
Here's a gratuitous alien pic...

And for those who have been sharing my tenterhooks, I can announce that Ruprecht is a boy! From this day forth I shall be expecting a mini-replica of G. A tiny little Spod that will burst forth in June, to grace the world with its smart alec sarcasm and coding skills :-)
I suppose now we know the sex, we'd better try and thnk of a sensible name for him before Ruprecht sticks irrevocably! (G and I were picturing a small boy, years into the future, watching this and saying "wait... you nicknamed me after that???")
(PS - sincere condolences to Siobhan's mum, who really deseves to knit for a girl, for a change!)
