Yet more kitteh-related ramblings

One of the nice things about new pets is experiencing the transition from googly-eyed infatuation to love.  It doesn't happen straight away...  no matter how cute they are,.

This week I have started to feel it in my heart for my little Truffle bear.   It's not to say that I don't love Harriet... (it's just that everyone loves Harriet).  But timid little Truffle, so often overlooked, has become my special girl.  Every evening, as soon as I put my key in the door, she hurtles down the stairs, mewing all the way, to greet me at the front door, and then purrs in my arms like a daft, floppy cushion as I carry her back upstairs.  She's so docile when being held, it's a joy to wander around the flat with her purring in my arms.  

Thanks to her mottled colouring and sad-bear face, she remains devilishly hard to photograph - and most of the time comes out looking like an ill-defined brown smudge, put to shame beside insanely cute, photogenic Harriet.  If only I had a better way to convey the tactile charms of my gentle, purring cuddle-bunny, you would love her too. 

Unfortunately she seems to have developed an irrational fear of Glen ever since he tried to catch her for her vet stabbings the other week.  I do hope she forgets about that soon, because it is v. frustrating to see her flee every time he goes near her.  (In the meantime he is being well consoled by Harriet, who is a complete and utter daddy's girl!)

Yeah, I went through this when everyone fell in love with Henrijk. Your two look lovely! Maybe get hold of some Thrive fish treats and get Glen to give some to Truffle every time he sees her, while you distract Harriet with some on the other side of the room?

Aw, they are both growing up to be real little stunners! Truffle has come out very nicely in the second from the bottom, but all the same the picture of Harriet looking directly at us through the mirror is my favourite.

Naaaaw, kitteeeeehhhhs!

Bonnie is Mummy's girl. Mr Hoor only gets cuddlings if I'm away. Clyde is very much a man's man. He's not much of a lap-cat but sometimes sits between us on the sofa, and will always snuggle up to Mr H. Except when I had pneumonia, and he snuggled me! I think he knew I needed a snuggling.

I love the ways they greet us. Clyde walks towards me miaowing then flops down and wriggles around on his back. Bonnie just tears around the place in a demented manner, such is her exitement.

I know what you mean about the relationship developing with your cats, even though Mapp wouldn't come near us for ages there was something about her vulnerability and timidity that just wormed it's way into my heart and now although we still can't pick her up she is a lovely little snuggler and when I come in she chunters away to me until I've made a fuss of her.
Lucia is a complete daddy's girl but tolerates my fussing though over the last few weeks she has chosen my lap over his a few times :-)
