Sorrento, stabbings and silliness
Jan. 14th, 2011 06:21 pmOh dear. Today I look about as youthful and vigorous as a sack of exceptionally haggard old potatoes. (This serves me right for crowing about my miraculous pregger-induced youth-skin the other day). Woe to be so short-lived.
I'm blaming the injection of purest evil that I had in my left arm yesterday, which is actually a very good and clever thing even if it does make you feel a bit feek and weeble. (Clever because it's a dead virus, so it acts like the tail end of flu without being remotely contagious to other people).
Thanks for all of your excellent suggestions for holiday destinations in March. G and I are tempted by lots of the ideas in different ways, especially Seville or the Amalfi coast. However I fear I may be getting carried away with unfeasible notions of sunshine in March. (The great oracle Tripadvisor says that March is surprisingly chilly in both Sorrento and Seville - and also quite rainy, with a lot of facilities not open yet, so we might feel like we went in the wrong month). On the other hand, I really wouldn't mind seeing a cold, rainy Venice...
Someone else suggested the Lake District - and I do wonder whether holing up in a cottage in chilly, rural Brit-land might not be such a bad option, going for bracing walks and reading books (dither dither dither.) But of course it matters not where we choose. Above all, a holiday is a state of mind.
Meanwhile, yea for Friday night! I hope you've all got good weekends lined up. (I shall be taking a very naughty kitten for her anti-Leukaemia stabbings and finding yet more excuses to procrastinate about decorating the hallway.)
PS - much as I love the idea of a musical version of Tales Of The City, the very act of me "liking" it on FB has led G and I to be song-virused by this...
