aaaaaaaand relax
Dec. 22nd, 2010 05:14 pmPheeeeee-yew! I have finally finished my xmas shopping, and am now thoroughly knackerood. Need to flop for a bit...
Ladies... while I was paying for something in Dickens & Jones, I became aware of a soft, lilting scottish voice besde me and when I turned I found myself looking directly into the eyes of John Hannah. I should really have clocked it earlier, given the profusion of middle aged women coming over all unneccessary in my vicinity :-)
Anyway tonight's task is to do all of the remaining wrapping up, without accidentally wrapping or maining the deathwish kittens. This year the present mountain is obscene, thanks to the fact that we are cramming 5 adults and a toddler (and all of toddler's giant, surrogate presents) into our flat for xmas day... there is absolutely NO WAY it's all going to fit under the tree. I predict scenes of carnage on xmas day.
The good news is that we have now done everything. Shopping over, menu planned, food bought, nothing to be posted. Tomorrow is a blessed, choreless day before christmas and I intend to spend the whole of it in Vegas.
Christmas eve will involve pottering in the kitchen, making some things ahead of time and waiting for guests to arrive.
Tonight I think we'll watch the Misfits christmas special before going into prolonged mourning over the end of the second series (waill! gnash!) This has turned out to be my favourite British TV prog in years. A critic recently commented that it was billed, rather weakly, as "Heroes meets Skins" - but is in fact far superior to both of those and would be better described as "Trainspotting meets X-men". (I concur!)
